What is the difference between added sugars (by available carbohydrate) and added sugars (by total sugars)? Which should I use?

Good question. I have no clue. I’ll get back to you when I know the answer.

Added sugars (by the total sugars) is the one you see on the product label. It includes mono and disaccharides. Added sugars (by available carbohydrate) have mono, di, and other higher saccharides.

I’m confused- there are two added sugar variables and I don’t understand the difference between the two.
