License Options

Four options are available for licensing NDSR: NDSR, NDSR Pilot-Pack, NDSR Grad-Pack, Academic NDSR

NDSR is the primary licensing option for research purposes, offering full features, nutrient calculations, and reporting and output file functionality. The license is a one-time purchase with software and technical support provided through the first year. Database upgrades and ongoing client support benefits are provided with the purchase of an annual support agreement.
  • Support - Services provided include NDSR upgrades, software and technical support, and up to 50 missing food resolutions per year for the initial license.

  • Price - Initial copy is $5,500 and each additional copy is $3,250. Annual support for the initial copy is $3,275 per year and each additional copy is $450 per year.

  • Licensing Process - Contact NCC Client Sevices. They will prepare a license agreement (pdf) and arrange payment.
NDSR Pilot-Pack is available to facilitate use of the NDSR software in pilot or feasiblilty studies. Offered at a steeply discounted price, NDSR Pilot-Pack may be used only for the pilot or feasibility study for which it is approved. Investigators may use the software up to two years for data entry. The resulting output files are extensive, tab-delimited text files that may be analyzed using your choice of statistical analysis software.
  • Support - Services provided include installation assistance, answers to your questions, consultation time with NCC Client Services Representatives and up to ten missing food resolutions.
  • Price - Initial copy is $1,500 and each additional copy is $900. This payment may be credited toward an unlimited license of NDSR at the end of the study period.
  • Eligibility - Limited to use for preliminary studies conducted to serve as the basis for a larger (e.g. R01) study. The study must be two years in length or less and the annual budget must be equal to or less than $100,000.
  • Licensing Process - Complete an application form (pdf) so that eligibility may be determined. NCC Client Sevices staff will prepare a license agreement (pdf) and arrange payment.
NDSR Grad-Pack is available to facilitate use of NDSR by graduate students for their graduate work. With this licensing option, approved students may use the software up to one year for data entry. The resulting output files are extensive, tab-delimited text files that may be analyzed using your choice of statistical analysis software.
  • Support - Services provided include installation assistance, answers to your questions, consultation time with NCC Client Services Representatives.
  • Price - Initial copy is $895.
  • Eligibility - Limited to use for graduate student research only.
  • Licensing Process - Complete an application form (pdf) so that eligibility may be determined. NCC Client Sevices staff will prepare a license agreement (pdf) and arrange payment.
Academic NDSR is available to facilitate use of NDSR for teaching purposes, which allows students to have hands-on experience with research-quality nutrient calculation software. This licensing option includes all NDSR features and reports with the exception of output file generation. This license is valid for one year. Academic NDSR may be installed on a teaching lab network at no additional cost.
  • Support - Services provided include installation assistance, answers to your questions, consultation time with NCC Client Services Representatives.
  • Price - The initial copy is $225 and each additional copy is $50.
  • Eligibility - Limited to teaching purposes only.
  • Licensing Process - Complete an application form (pdf) so that eligibility may be determined. NCC Client Sevices staff will prepare a license agreement (pdf) and arrange payment.
