Nutrient Additions and Updates

This chart shows nutrient additions and major updates to foods and nutrients in the NCC Food and Nutrient Database for each version of NDSR.

Nutrient additions are selected based on:

  • scientific importance;
  • availability of suitable data; and
  • client interest.
Food and nutrient updates are made in response to changes made by manufacturers. Nutrient updates are also made when better analytic methods provide improved nutrient values or new measurement units are recommended.
