Experimental Biology 2008 Presentations

Dr. Lisa Harnack and Dr. Bhaskarani Jasthi attended the Experimental Biology 2008 meetings in San Diego to make presentations based on work completed at the Nutrition Coordinating Center. Both presentations pertained to vitamin D, a topic of increasing interest in the nutrition research arena.

• Dr. Jasthi's presentation overviewed the process and procedures that have been used to add and update vitamin D values for the NCC Food and Nutrient Database.

Abstract


• Dr. Harnack extracted vitamin D values from archived Minnesota Heart Survey records dating from 1980 through 2002 to provide surveillance data on vitamin D intake for that time period.
